DREAMSCAPE TREKS · EST. 2005

Rooted in Nepal.
Built around people.

Dreamscape Treks is a Nepal-based travel and adventure company creating personally planned journeys in Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan and India.

MORE THAN TWO DECADES OF JOURNEYS

A journey that
began in Nepal.

Nepal is more than one of our destinations. It is our home.

Established in 2005, we have spent more than two decades helping travellers experience the mountains, landscapes, cultures and communities of this remarkable region.

But for us, travel has never been simply about reaching a destination. It is about the people you meet, the places you experience and the memories that stay with you long after you return home.

That is the kind of travel we want to create.

Dreamscape Treks was established in Nepal in 2005, but the experience behind the company began years earlier.

The people behind Dreamscape came to tourism through the work itself — managing trekking operations, guiding in the mountains, arranging field staff and learning what it takes to turn an itinerary into an actual journey.

That background shaped the company from the beginning.

Read our full story

Dreamscape started with trekking, at a time when the way people planned and booked travel was very different from today. Over the years, both Nepal's tourism industry and the expectations of travellers have changed. Dreamscape has changed with them.

What began around trekking gradually developed into a wider travel company. Today, our work includes trekking and hiking, climbing and expeditions, cultural journeys, wildlife, rafting, motorbike tours, mountain flights, pilgrimage and other ways of experiencing Nepal. Our journeys also extend to Tibet, Bhutan and India through destination-based partners.

The company itself has changed along the way too. People have come and gone, responsibilities have evolved and a new generation of travel technology has transformed how we communicate with travellers.

But Dreamscape's connection with the field has remained important.

We still believe that travel cannot be understood entirely from behind a desk. The people planning a journey need to remain connected with the guides, field staff, local partners and communities who actually make that journey work.

More than two decades after Dreamscape was established, we continue to build on what those years have taught us while remaining open to better ways of doing things.

Our story began with trekking in Nepal. It continues with every journey we help put together.

HIMALAYA & BEYOND

Rooted in the mountains.
Open to much more.

The Himalaya is at the heart of Dreamscape, and trekking is where our roots lie. But travel with us goes much further than trekking alone.

You may come to Nepal to walk beneath the world's highest mountains, climb a peak or join a mountaineering expedition. Or you may want to explore historic cities and heritage sites, experience wildlife, raft a river, travel by motorbike, see the mountains from the air, visit sacred places, or bring several different experiences together in one journey.

Our journeys also extend beyond Nepal to Tibet, Bhutan and India, giving travellers more ways to experience the landscapes, cultures and people of this wider region.

Whether you begin with a particular trek, a destination or simply an idea, we can help shape the journey around the way you want to travel.

That is Himalaya & Beyond — rooted in the mountains, but never limited to trekking.

WHY DREAMSCAPE?

A journey that makes
sense for you.

There are many ways to travel in Nepal, and many companies that can arrange a trip. We do not think choosing Dreamscape should depend on us telling you that we are the “best.”

What we can tell you is how we work.

01

We Listen Before We Recommend

You do not need to choose a package before speaking with us.

You do not need to choose a package before speaking with us.

Tell us where you would like to go, how much time you have, what interests you and anything you are unsure about. Sometimes an existing itinerary will suit you. Sometimes a few changes will make it better. And sometimes it makes more sense to start from the beginning.

02

We Know Nepal Through Experience

Our connection with Nepal's tourism field goes back to the 1990s, before Dreamscape itself was established.

Our connection with Nepal's tourism field goes back to the 1990s, before Dreamscape itself was established.

That experience includes trekking operations, guiding, field coordination and journey planning. It gives us a practical understanding of the country that cannot come from an itinerary alone.

03

We Prefer Straightforward Advice

If we think a programme is too rushed, we should tell you.

If we think a programme is too rushed, we should tell you.

If an activity requires better preparation, we should explain it.

If adding another destination makes the journey unnecessarily complicated, we should be comfortable recommending less rather than more.

Good advice is not always about adding something to a booking.

04

The People in the Field Matter

A carefully written itinerary means little without the people who make it work.

A carefully written itinerary means little without the people who make it work.

Guides, mountain professionals, porters, drivers, local suppliers, destination partners and office staff all contribute to a journey. Maintaining good working relationships with these people is an important part of how Dreamscape operates.

05

Your Journey Does Not Have to Look Like Everyone Else's

Some travellers prefer a well-established route.

Read our approach

Some travellers prefer a well-established route. Others want privacy, a different pace, particular accommodation or a combination of activities and destinations.

We can work with both.

The aim is not to make every journey different simply for the sake of being different. It is to make sure the journey suits the person taking it.

06

We Stay Involved

From the first conversation through planning and preparation, we want you to know who you are dealing with.

Read our approach

From the first conversation through planning and preparation, we want you to know who you are dealing with.

And once your journey begins, there should still be people behind it — not simply a booking reference and an itinerary.

We do not need to make travel sound complicated. We need to help make it work.

NEPAL IS OUR HOME

Experience means
knowing when to adapt.

Years of working in the tourism field have taught us that good travel planning is about more than putting places together on an itinerary.

Weather changes. Flights are delayed. Roads and trails change. People respond differently to altitude. Plans sometimes need to change.

Experience means understanding these realities, planning carefully and knowing when to adapt.

That practical approach remains at the heart of how we work.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR CEO

Come and experience
it with us.

Amar Jung LamaChairman & CEO · Dreamscape Treks

Dear Traveller,

I have been part of Nepal's tourism field since the 1990s. Over the years, I have met people from many countries, each arriving with a different reason for travelling. Some came with a dream they had carried for years. Others came simply wanting to see and experience somewhere new.

That has always reminded me that every journey means something different to the person taking it.

When you contact Dreamscape, we begin by listening to what you have in mind. You may already know exactly where you want to go, or you may need some help deciding. Either way, we are here to answer your questions, share what we have learned through experience and help you find a journey that feels right for you.

I also want you to feel that there are real people behind your journey. Tourism has changed enormously during my years in this field, but I still believe that personal attention, trust and good relationships matter.

If you choose to travel with Dreamscape, we will be pleased to welcome you, learn what kind of journey you are looking for and help you make the most of the time you have with us.

I hope your journey begins with confidence and ends with a reason to remember us.

Warm regards,
Amar Jung Lama

OUR TEAM

The people behind
your journey.

Every Dreamscape journey involves people working in different places and carrying different responsibilities.

Some work from our Kathmandu office, helping with enquiries, planning, reservations, documentation and coordination. Others work in the field as trekking guides, mountain guides, climbing personnel, porters, drivers and support staff.

Their roles are different, but the journey depends on them working together.

Different roles. One journey.

The person answering your first enquiry may not be the person walking beside you in the mountains. The guide leading your trek may depend on people you never meet to arrange transport, accommodation, permits or other practical details. Much of this work happens quietly in the background.

We believe those contributions matter.

Dreamscape's team has grown through relationships built over years of working in Nepal's tourism field. We value people not simply for the position they hold, but for the experience, reliability and responsibility they bring to their work.

For travellers, this means there are people behind the itinerary — before the journey begins, while it is taking place and until it is completed.

Different roles. One journey. People working together to make it happen.

Chairman & CEO

Amar Jung Lama

Amar Jung Lama has worked in Nepal's tourism field since 1994, building his experience through both management and work in the field.

Read profile of Amar Jung Lama

He began his career managing trekking operations, where he became familiar with the planning and coordination required behind a journey. Wanting to understand the work beyond the office, he later completed trekking guide training through HMTTC and obtained his trekking guide licence in 1999.

His years in the field took him through some of Nepal's major trekking regions, including Everest, Annapurna and Langtang. This gave him experience on both sides of the business — understanding what happens in the field as well as the planning and management required behind it.

Over the years, his responsibilities developed from trekking operations and guiding into company management, administration and business leadership.

Today, as Chairman & CEO of Dreamscape Treks, Amar is responsible for the company's overall administration and direction. He oversees corporate and legal matters, works with business and travel partners, and remains involved in the development of the company's journeys and its relationships with travellers.

His long experience in tourism continues to influence how he leads Dreamscape. He believes that good travel planning should begin with the traveller rather than with a ready-made itinerary, because different people can experience the same destination in very different ways.

Saput Man Tama is a co-founder of Dreamscape Adventure Treks and has been part of the company since its establishment in 2005. His background in tourism comes directly from the trekking field, where he began his career as an Assistant Trekking Guide before progressing to work as a Trekking Guide.

As his responsibilities grew, Saput undertook professional Trekking Guide Training as well as First Aid Training, adding formal training to the practical experience he had already gained in the field.

Today, as Director – Field Operations, Saput is responsible for coordinating the people and practical arrangements required for Dreamscape's trekking and mountain programmes. He works closely with trekking guides, mountain guides and climbing personnel, porters and other field support staff, helping ensure that the right people are assigned according to the requirements of each journey.

Having worked his way through different roles in trekking, Saput understands field operations from personal experience. He knows the responsibilities carried by guides and support staff and the importance of good coordination between the office and the people working on the ground.

His long association with Dreamscape, together with his years of field experience, makes him an important part of both the company's history and its operations today.

RESPONSIBLE TRAVEL

Travel
with respect.

Travel brings us into places that are home to other people. It also takes us into mountain environments, protected areas and landscapes where the impact of visitors can remain long after they leave.

At Dreamscape, responsible travel begins with something simple: respect the place, respect the people and think about the effect of the journey.

Respect for Local Communities

Nepal's villages, towns, religious sites and cultural traditions are part of everyday life, not simply attractions for visitors.

We encourage our travellers to respect local customs, dress and behaviour appropriately where required, ask before photographing people when appropriate, and follow the guidance of local communities and their guides.

Experiencing another culture does not require changing it for the visitor.

Looking After the People Behind the Journey

Treks, climbs and other journeys depend on guides, porters, drivers and field staff whose work makes travel possible.

We believe they should be treated with respect and consideration. Appropriate working arrangements, reasonable loads, suitable equipment and attention to the welfare of field staff are part of responsible operations.

Caring for the Places We Travel Through

Waste and pressure on local resources are real concerns in popular travel areas, particularly in mountain regions.

Where practical, we encourage travellers to reduce unnecessary single-use items, use refill or water-treatment options, dispose of waste properly and avoid leaving anything behind on trails or at campsites.

Small choices made repeatedly can make a difference.

Wildlife and the Natural Environment

Wildlife should be observed without unnecessary disturbance. Plants, rocks and other natural features should generally remain where they belong.

When travelling through national parks, conservation areas and other protected environments, travellers should follow the rules of the area and the guidance of those responsible for the journey.

Responsibility Without Big Claims

We do not want to describe every journey as “sustainable” simply because the word sounds good.

Travel inevitably has an impact. Our responsibility is to recognize that impact and make sensible choices wherever we reasonably can.

Where Dreamscape supports a community initiative or CSR activity, we prefer to explain what was actually done, where and with whom rather than make broad claims about giving back.

Responsible travel is not a separate part of the journey. It is part of how the journey should be made.
